On October 7-8, 2025, the project team presented the results of the AFID implementation at the international seminar “Development of an inclusive educational environment based on a student-centered approach under the emergencies” organized by the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and the team of National Experts on Higher Education Reform of the EU Erasmus+ Program (HERE team), with support from SPHERE, EACEA, and the participation of TAM expert Dr. Jeanine Gregersen-Hermans. On the first day of the seminar, Iryna Zolotareva, Professor of the Department of Information Systems at Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics and a member of the national team of experts on higher education reform (HERE), summarized the results of the AFID project and shared the main achievements of the project team concerning the development of an inclusive educational environment and the opportunities and tools offered by the Virtual Inclusive Campus (VIC). Additionally, she highlighted ideas and principles that reflect modern approaches to creating inclusive educational content and building individual educational trajectories based on a student-centred approach. Professor Natalia Mazaraki, Head of the Department of International, Civil, and Commercial Law at the State University of Trade and Economics, discussed selecting appropriate digital tools to ensure inclusive learning, illustrated by the course "Theory of Industry Markets" (author Anzhelika Gerasimenko, Professor, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work and International Relations at the same university, and the national coordinator of the AFID project). She emphasised the importance of integrating modern digital technologies to create an educational environment that supports all students and ensures access to educational materials regardless of circumstances. The second day focused on addressing urgent challenges and developing common guidelines and recommendations for establishing an inclusive educational space in Ukraine. Professor Viktoriya Kharchuk from the Department of Management and International Business at Lviv Polytechnic National University presented the findings from studying the needs and challenges faced by students with diverse abilities. The audience learned about the needs of children from Lviv Maria Pokrov Special School (a state institution for children with hearing impairments), achievements and initiatives of the NGO "Speak!" (which develops digital technologies to improve lives), and the perspectives of teachers and sign language interpreters working with these children. We sincerely thank the organisers for this vital and timely event. Let's work together to create a high-quality, accessible, and supportive educational environment.
