Project members participated in the Workshop on Enhancing Higher Education to enable inclusivity, accessibility, and academic freedom held at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology on October 16 – 20, 2023.
The participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the peculiarities of the organizational development strategy at KTH Royal Institute of Technology aimed at improving the educational process. Particular attention was paid to the ways of supporting and administrating the quality of educational programs, the system of higher education support, and the processes that contribute to the achievement of high-quality education and research.
During the workshop, participants gained insight into how KTH systematically works to integrate sustainability ideas into education, including the development of relevant policies, approaches, and tools, as well as specific examples of courses and educational programs where these initiatives have been most widely implemented. In addition, the project team learned about the institutional strategy for the digital transformation of higher education, the specifics of using digital technologies to improve learning, and best practices for modernizing digital content to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.
At the same time, the project participants discussed training materials on inclusive learning and teaching (training kit) that will be offered to a group of faculty involved in teaching at the Multi-Institutional Inclusive Virtual Campus (MIIVC).
