On May 13, 2024, the seminar training "Principles of Universal Design for Learning: Building Inclusive Online Courses" was held. The Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics organized the event as part of the international Erasmus+ AFID and DigiUni projects (S. Kuznets coordinator - Prof. Iryna Zolotaryova). The training was conducted for project members and a wide range of academic staff committed to making their online courses accessible to all students, regardless of their abilities and individual needs. The seminar's speaker was Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor Liudmyla Gryzun an experienced specialist in the digitalization of education.
During the training, the participants:
- get acquainted with the principles of universal design for learning;
- learned how to apply these principles to the development of online courses;
- acquired practical skills in creating digitally inclusive educational materials;
- shared their experiences and best practices with other colleagues.
The participants in the training highly appreciated its content and organization. They noted that they gained valuable knowledge and skills that will help them make their online courses more accessible and inclusive. As a result of this training, educators will be well-equipped to contribute to the establishment of a more inclusive and accessible educational environment.
The Simon Kuznets Kharkiv National University of Economics plans to continue conducting training on inclusive education for teachers of higher educational institutions.
